2 Timothy 1:6 ~ " I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God."
Faith is passed from generation to generation. Family is the cornerstone to our children's faith development. On Fire is St Luke's comprehensive plan for Spiritual Education, designed with developmental and spiritual growth markers.
Spark is our ministry to the very young children and their families. Parents bond with their children during this special time made just for them. They meet other parents and have opportunity to visit and talk about the joys and challenges of small children. Each age has a theme appropriate to what they experience in physical, emotional, and spiritual growth during that year. Beyond the walls of the church, families get together for socials, play dates, and activities.
Flame is our family ministry that focuses on elementary school-aged children. In addition to weekly Sunday School lessons, there are a variety of programs and events for elementary children and their families to participate in. St Luke's partners with the families in helping children grow spiritually and learn to stand strong in their Christian faith
The St Luke’s nursery operates weekly during the Discipleship Hour at 9:30am and the late worship service at 10:45am for ages 3 and under. Care is also offered during mid-week services for Advent and Lent. During holidays such as Christmas, care is provided. Our nursery care workers are paid employees of St. Luke’s.
Our Sunday School for 3, 4 and 5 year-olds, and grades 1-6 is offered every Sunday from September through May. This year, all children will be involved with The Story, along with the whole church. This is a narrative the the Bible, telling the story of God's love and grace.
The classes are taught by dedicated volunteers from St Luke’s.
The St Luke’s Children’s Choir is made up of 1st through 6th graders. They meet weekly for rehearsal September through May. No audition is required. The choir sings for worship monthly and for special services and events such as the Angel Breakfast, the Sunday School Christmas Program, the Children’s Christmas Eve service, and Palm Sunday. At the end of the choir year, the choir presents a Christian musical/drama.
